A game is born – part 1

“I’ll make a Game!”

That was my first idea for DragonEvo back in 2006/2007. A full AAA RPG game.

I had many ideas back then, but alas, other than DragonEvo, I fear many of the ideas did not survive
Being young and full of energy I tried really really hard, for a while…
And ffter trying for about 6-9 months to make a game:

“I’ll make a Movie!”

Did I finish the Game or the Movie?
Short answer: No!

Longer answer:
After almost 2 years on and off trying to get people to help out we were left with a script of about 60 pages, a test intro(see the video) a lot of sketches and some animation tests, a failed low poly game made in Blender and many random 3D objects.

{"arrow":"true","pagination":"true","speed":"300","autoplay":"true","autoplay_speed":"3000","loop":"true","slide_to_show":"1","slide_show_ipad_swpr":"2","slide_show_tablet_swpr":"1","slide_show_mobile_swpr":"1","slide_to_column":"1","auto_stop":"false","centermode":"true","space_between":"0","animation_swpr":"slide","height_auto_swiper":"false","direction_swpr":"horizontal","vertical_height":""}

Most characters, city names, ideas and lore are still in or planned in DragonEvo TCG

We finished a concept intro test of some sort:

Fascinatingly enough I was able to get about 10 people from different parts of the world who tried to get this thing going, and if it wasn’t because of these individuals, DragonEvo TCG probably would not be the same today as a lot of the basic Lore still exists in the current game.

Through 2007-2010 I kept reviving or trying to uphold the old idea of creating an animation or a game, but all the original people gave up(Strange right?), and the summer of 2010 I gave up.

“hey, let’s create game”

Then in late 2010 my brother, screen name Zegenie(knowing little of my endeavors), said, “hey, let’s create game”… and so it began.
We started out on a few projects, a strategy game of sorts, but in the end in 2011:

{"arrow":"true","pagination":"true","speed":"300","autoplay":"true","autoplay_speed":"3000","loop":"true","slide_to_show":"1","slide_show_ipad_swpr":"2","slide_show_tablet_swpr":"1","slide_show_mobile_swpr":"1","slide_to_column":"1","auto_stop":"false","centermode":"true","space_between":"0","animation_swpr":"slide","height_auto_swiper":"false","direction_swpr":"horizontal","vertical_height":""}

Fancy right? I mean just look at the details and the graphics. We are talking cutting edge technology and graphics.
Jokes aside it actually all ran in the browser at that time and we were quite happy with it. We continued to polish the game, though sadly some of the final images of that version has been lost to time. So what happened next? Stay tuned for part 2
